Metabolite profiling of Solanum tuberosum reveals a differential response to Phytophthora infestans dependent on host resistance and pathogen isolate

چکیده

The genetic basis of the resistance potatoes to Phytophthora infestans is well-studied. Plant P. genetically controlled, and secondary metabolites play a role, but themselves (e.g., phenylpropanoids) are poorly understood. This study aimed characterize effects two isolates host on metabolite expression in potato plants. To do this, phenylpropanoid pathway, chlorogenic acid, flavonoids, salicylic acid jasmonic elicitors were characterized. late blight-susceptible cultivar (Jutlandia) responded both with changes levels compounds early whereas response resistant (Toluca) occurred later pathway was more marked case A2 mating-type isolate. results reveal important differences role metabolism suggest that different phenylpropanoids affected depending isolate host's susceptibility infestans.

Context-dependent amphibian host population response to an invading pathogen.

Amphibian chytridiomycosis, caused by the chytrid fungus Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis (Bd), is an emerging infectious disease that widely threatens amphibian biodiversity. However, population-level outcomes following the introduction of the pathogen are highly context dependent and are mediated by a broad suite of biotic and abiotic variables. Here, we examine the effect of the introduction o...

A model of host response to a multi-stage pathogen.

We model the immune surveillance of a pathogen which passes through n immunologically distinct stages. The biological parameters of this system induce a partial order on the stages, and this, in turn, determines which stages will be subject to immune regulation. This corresponds to the system's unique asymptotically stable fixed point.

a comparison of teachers and supervisors, with respect to teacher efficacy and reflection

supervisors play an undeniable role in training teachers, before starting their professional experience by preparing them, at the initial years of their teaching by checking their work within the proper framework, and later on during their teaching by assessing their progress. but surprisingly, exploring their attributes, professional demands, and qualifications has remained a neglected theme i...

RNA profiling in host-pathogen interactions.

The development of novel anti-bacterial treatment strategies will be aided by an increased understanding of the interactions that take place between bacteria and host cells during infection. Global expression profiling using microarray technologies can help to describe and define the mechanisms required by bacterial pathogens to cause disease and the host responses required to defeat bacterial ...
